  • Kitty Mitchell Grouper

This Kitty Mitchell or Strawberry Grouper was caught by a friend of mine on a deep water trip. There skin is very thick and leathery, holds the paint well, and makes a terrific original print. I have over six hours painting in just the white spots.

  • Aidens first Snook

I got a call from my friend who said they were heading in from fishing shortly with a speacial fish. My neighbor’s Grandson had just caught his first Snook. After he told me the size, I cut some canvas and prepped everything to make some prints. Moments later they showed up at my dock with the fish. I thought it would be extra special if I let Aiden be part of the process. I love the excitement in this video and that he has a forever memory hanging on his wall!

  • Florida Keys Permit

I caught this Permit on a weekend fishing trip to the Keys, while fishing for small tarpon and bonefish. It was certainly a surprise to see this fish hit an atrificial shrimp in just 3’ of water. Then we managed to land it with out a net! It was a personal best for me and I was glad to have my canvas and paint with me.

  • Yellowtail School

Although this is one of the most difficult tasks, is also one of my favorites. I chose a canvas size to work with and print the same fish multiple times to create a school. After each print, the fish gets prepped and painted again. I try to create a random scene like you would see underwater with fish enterin and exiting the canvas. This particular school required 12 individual prints of the same fish.

  • All lit up Hogfish

I watched this hog fish change colors and light up from the surface in around 25’. The water was so clear this day I thought it was too small, so I swam down just to get a GoPro video. As I approached, I realized it was big enough, and lucky for me, he gave me a second chance and showed me the bullseye. I decided the finish project should look just like the fish in the video.

  • Supporting Survivors- Breast Cancer Awareness

I was asked to donate art to an upcoming benifit for Breast Cancer Awareness and I wanted to come up with something unique pertaining to my art. I set out in my kayak soon after looking for the perfect fish. I decided to print This Redfish in pink and add the ribbon on the tail in place of the typical black spot.

  • African Pompano for Alex

I got a call from a buddy who said someone on his boat had speared a personal best African Pompano. He said it was in rough shape from knife wounds on the head but wanted a print. Spearfisherman do their best to brain the fish with a knife in order to preserve the meat and be more humane. I met them at the dock and said I would do my best to clean it up in the final print. It was a welcome challenge and Alex now has his trophy fish hanging on the wall.

  • T-Shirts

Hogfish is one of my favorite fish to spear and eat. I placed a perfect kill shot on this one that also came out between the gills on the opposite side and left no exit wounds. Luckily I had two t-shirts ready to go. These two shirts were created specifically to wear to an upcoming art show and the fish was eaten for dinner the next night.

Yes, that is a sunken army tank that the fish is learking behind.

  • 50lb Kingfish

This fish was the winning fish at the fall King of the Beach Fishing tournament. Three members of the Winning Team got a print of this fish, and I got to make some smoked fish dip!
